26 While power is an important feature of the Schumpeterian innovator entrepreneur, modern innovation literature emphasizes the innovation process’network building nature ( Hronszky, 2002), which means that benevolence and universality has become more important. In our entrepreneurial sample these values are in the top three, and the evaluation of benevolence significantly differs from that of the general population sample, while universalism is equally important for everyone. Security, conformity and tradition on the other hand are values that are less important for entrepreneurs than for the general population – this also clearly shows a value structure close to entrepreneurs. Hereby we present the analysis of two selected companies that in our opinion can highlight how values appear in innovative enterprises. 7+( &$6( 2) 62/92 It is one of the leading biotechnology companies in Central Europe and is located in the Southern Great Plain region. The company was founded at the end of the 20th century by Hungarian researchers and businesspersons; however, it is selling its products exclusively abroad. Increasing its sales by 50%, its total revenue has exceeded one billion HUF for several years. The company won the award „ the company of the year ” as well as an innovation award, and mainly mediates between basic research and industrial use. The CEO is a genuine entrepreneur, he has founded or co-founded 13 companies over the past 15 years. He is also founder and president of the Hungarian Biotechnology Association. He has a strong connection to the local university with which the company itself cooperates too. He also teaches at the university and his company is involved in the training of Ph.D. students. The mission statement of Solvo is the following: „ Our vision is to be globally renowned as a scientific leader and high quality provider of products and services in the field of ADME/Tox related transporters. Our mission is to help our customers achieve their goals by providing them with products, services and consulting associated with ADME/Tox related transporters. ” (www.solvobiotech.com , 2017) When analyzing the content of the interviews with the CEO of this company, we have come up with the following values that motivated his behavior. &UHDWLYLW\ . „… we have researchers who do research, meaning that they do develop new products, where they have to be creative and continuously have to think about renewing things or inventing new things which requires high- level creativity.” „ Bottom-up ideas are rewarded separately in order to make people think and come up with new ideas. So we absolutely try to collect new ideas from every levels .” $FKLHYHPHQW . „ We usually hire researchers when they have a Ph. D., meaning that they already have practical knowledge, so they either have a Ph. D., or had worked at our company before .” 5LVN WDNLQJ . „ Having twenty companies behind my back I am obviously and extreme example in this regard…I can play ‘all in’ at any time when I like something. So I, when I have an idea I believe in, I will put my house, my car into it, and also borrow fifty million HUF from someone else. ”(NOL, 2017, Index, 2007)
